These decisions were reached after a vote by the heads of tertiary institutions present.
How to Check UTME Results
JAMB has released the UTME results, and candidates can check their scores via SMS. According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, candidates should send the word "UTMERESULT" to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration. The SMS will display the results, but printing is not yet available. Candidates are warned against manipulating the SMS to alter scores, as this is a serious criminal offense.
JAMB Addresses Hijab Incident
In a related development, JAMB responded to reports that a female candidate was denied entry to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre in Ibadan due to wearing a hijab. The incident occurred at the Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre. JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin clarified that the action was taken by an overzealous ad hoc staff member, not by the board or the centre. The board reiterated its commitment to fair and inclusive examination practices.
