President Tinubu Inaugurates Landmark Tolu Schools Complex and Fresh Food Industrial Hub in Lagos

President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the extensively remodeled Tolu Schools Complex, a monumental educational facility comprising 36 schools, now recognized as the largest in sub-Saharan West Africa. Located in Ajegunle, within the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Council of Lagos State, this inauguration marks a pivotal moment in the region's educational advancement.

Comprehensive Educational and Sports Infrastructure Unveiled

During the ceremony, President Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, also inaugurated the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, which features 19 mini football pitches and has been renamed in honor of the President. The event was graced by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and numerous top dignitaries, underscoring the project's national significance.

In his address, President Tinubu commended the Lagos State Government for its remarkable progress in education, infrastructural renewal, and empowerment initiatives. Additionally, President Tinubu virtually unveiled the Fresh Food Industrial Hub in Abijo, Ibeju Lekki. This hub is poised to enhance food security and economic opportunities in the region, aligning with broader efforts to boost local industries and trade.

Governor Sanwo-Olu Emphasizes Regeneration and Maintenance

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his remarks, described the complete regeneration of the Tolu Schools Complex as a courageous endeavor designed for the 21st-century generation. Earlier, Hakeem Smith, Chairman of the Lagos State Special Committee on the Rehabilitation of Public Schools, noted that despite overwhelming challenges during the project, the team's passion to deliver a world-class learning and teaching environment drove them to create an all-inclusive educational complex.

  • A Vocational Centre for skill development
