7 Nigerian University Students Receive Life-Changing KB Foundation Scholarships
7 Nigerian Students Get KB Foundation Scholarships

The dream of higher education became a reality for seven exceptional Nigerian students as they received transformative scholarships from the KB Foundation, a community-driven initiative dedicated to supporting indigent scholars.

Financial Barriers Overcome Through Generous Support

In Osogbo, Osun State, access to tertiary education has become increasingly challenging for students from poor families due to rising tuition fees across both public and private institutions. The KB Foundation has emerged as a beacon of hope, providing not just financial assistance but also educational materials and inspiration to deserving students.

The foundation awarded scholarships to seven brilliant undergraduates studying various courses at prestigious Nigerian universities including Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).

Meet the Scholarship Beneficiaries

Abiola Badmus A, a Medicine and Surgery student at OAU, first learned about the KB Foundation through a reference to the founder. Since receiving the scholarship in 2023 during the foundation's inaugural year, he has been able to focus completely on his studies and has successfully completed his preclinical studies.

Alabi Abdulmujeeb Adekunle, studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UNILORIN, discovered the opportunity through his father. After a rigorous screening process, he received the scholarship during a ceremony at Osun State University, describing it as a blessing that alleviated his family's financial struggles.

Adeniji Goodluck Ope, another Medicine and Surgery student at OAU, began his journey with a free JAMB registration exam at Career Builder Secondary School. His outstanding JAMB results caught the attention of the school's owner, who recommended him for the KB Foundation scholarship, which he secured immediately after enrollment.

Bolarinwa Olayinka Julius, a Medicine student at UNILORIN, found the scholarship through a WhatsApp link and received it during a KB Foundation project at Osun State University. He has since passed his first professional tests and begun his clinical years.

Nurudeen Toheeb Abidemi, studying Nursing Science at UNILORIN, also learned about the opportunity through a WhatsApp group and received the scholarship during a donation event in August 2025. The support has significantly reduced his family's financial burden.

Arowolo Wahab Abiodun, a Medicine student at FUTA, discovered the scholarship through a flyer on the ICAN Academy Opportunity Hub. After a competitive selection process, he received a one-year tuition scholarship covering tuition, preclinical expenses, and community service.

Maruff Hammed K., a Law student at OAU, was connected to the foundation by a teacher who introduced him to the founder. He has received consistent support since his first year and attributes his academic success to this assistance.

Beyond Financial Support: Building Future Leaders

The KB Foundation emphasized that their mission extends beyond paying school fees. They aim to inspire beneficiaries to work hard and develop a spirit of giving back to their communities. Each student expressed not only gratitude for the financial relief but also a renewed commitment to their studies and future contributions to society.

In a related development, the Professor Mike Adebamowo Foundation recently awarded scholarships worth over N8.9 million to sixteen financially disadvantaged students at the University of Lagos during a ceremony held on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

These initiatives highlight the growing importance of private sector and community involvement in supporting education and creating opportunities for Nigeria's future leaders.
