NYSC Member's Viral TikTok Video Exposes Demanding PPA Work Schedule
Corps Member Cries Out Over 7:30am-4pm Work Hours

A young Nigerian corps member has taken to social media to express her frustration over the demanding work schedule imposed by her Primary Place of Assignment, sparking widespread reactions online.

Corps Member's Emotional Outburst Goes Viral

Identified as @damnitspriscy on TikTok, the female corps member posted a video showing herself in a heated discussion with school administrators at her placement location. In the emotional footage, she expressed deep frustration about being required to work from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm daily, despite not being recognized as a full-time staff member.

The young lady passionately argued that the demanding schedule was unfair, especially considering she doesn't receive equal pay or benefits compared to permanent employees. Her viral outburst highlighted the ongoing challenges many corps members face during their mandatory national service year.

Social Media Erupts With Similar Experiences

The video quickly gained traction on TikTok, with numerous users sharing their own experiences in the comments section. Many expressed solidarity with the corps member, while others shared similar stories of demanding work conditions during their service year.

One user, @Miss Grace, commented: "Omo I will tell you for free the way you carry yourself and dress is the way they address you. Me when I was serving I was dressing so nice corporate and nice heels omo which staff wan send me message?"

Another user, @CHRISTMAS-HAMPERS/SAGAMU/MOSHO, shared a particularly concerning experience: "Ommoh NYSC should just stop sending corp members to private schools so they will know they are nothing. I really understand this sis I'm currently serving in a private school collecting 10k Stipend I'm taking 3 subjects and I will resume 7:30am and close by 3:30pm the way they are treating us ehn."

Widespread Pattern of Corps Member Exploitation

The viral video has exposed what appears to be a systemic issue affecting many Nigerian youth corps members. Several commenters revealed they face similar challenging conditions across different states and sectors.

@EXULTIA |RTW CORPORATE DRESSES shared: "I was posted to NAF and my work schedule is Monday to Friday 8-5pm with alternate 48-hour weekend. I tried to plead with the commandant and all they said no that's how they work in military and the commandant clearly said he won't reject me."

Other users offered practical advice, with @Perfumebyoyin/Hoyinxcakes&more suggesting: "Na you they stress yourself, act as if you don't here them even if they talk behind your back never help any teacher. If you are done with your class just disappear and don't take too much class because you are not a full teacher."

The incident, which occurred in November 2025, has reignited conversations about the need for better protection and fair treatment of corps members during their national service year. Many are calling for the NYSC scheme to implement clearer guidelines regarding work hours and conditions at various PPAs across Nigeria.
