UI Fresh Student Shares Unexpected Post-UTME Experience

A Nigerian lady studying an education course at the University of Ibadan has shared her unique post-UTME experience, highlighting an unexpected lesson in language.

Unexpected Encounter on the Way to the Exam

The 100-level student, Praise Izunwanne, took to her LinkedIn page to recount what happened while she was on her way to write her post-UTME. She boarded a bus whose driver seemed unable to understand English. When she needed to explain that she needed a restroom, the driver could not comprehend her English. Fortunately, Praise could speak a little Yoruba, which she used to communicate, and the driver understood immediately.

Lesson Learned: No Knowledge is Wasted

Praise noted that this experience made her regret neglecting Yoruba classes in secondary school. She now applies herself fully to learning French at university, believing that no knowledge is ever wasted. She encourages others to embrace every opportunity to learn.
