The University of Ibadan (UI) has elevated the Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Dr. Alarudeen Aminu, along with 33 other academics to professorial positions. Additionally, two Principal Librarians have been promoted to Deputy Librarians.
Promotion Details
The Appointments and Promotions Committee for Academic Staff approved these advancements during its meeting held on May 20 and 21, 2026. The promotions span various faculties and departments across the institution.
Dr. Aminu, from the Department of Economics, was among 22 Readers who were promoted to the rank of Professor. Dr. Babatunde Ojebuyi of the Department of Communication and Language Arts also moved from Senior Lecturer to Professor.
