The Rector of YABATECH, Dr Ibraheem Abdul, announced that this year's convocation is particularly momentous as it coincides with the college's 78th anniversary. He revealed a groundbreaking development that elevates the occasion's importance: the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, has officially approved the transition of YABATECH into a University of Technology and Vocational Studies.
The graduating class comprises students from a diverse range of schools, including:

Convocation Highlights and Prestigious Honours
The convocation activities commenced with a Jumat Service, setting the stage for the academic festivities. The lecture will be delivered by the Senate Majority Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, and will be chaired by Prof. Taiwo Oyedele, the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
In a prestigious segment of the ceremony, the college will confer its esteemed Fellowship Award on three distinguished individuals:

Strategic Achievements and Global Recognition
Rector Abdul highlighted several strategic accomplishments that have positioned YABATECH for its next phase of growth. A standout achievement is the innovative Plastogas project, a research initiative supported by the French Embassy that converts waste plastics into gas.
Dr Abdul emphasized that this innovation has thrust YABATECH into the global spotlight, establishing it as one of the very few institutions worldwide pioneering work in this critical environmental area.
Assuring all stakeholders of a seamless and secure event, the Rector confirmed that comprehensive security, logistics, and health safety measures are in place. He concluded with a statement of pride and optimism: "With pride and optimism, we look forward to celebrating the achievements of our graduands, and reaffirming our commitment to national development."
