Ekubo was laid to rest in Arochukwu, Abia State, amid emotional scenes. Videos of the funeral surfaced online, showing the solemn moment when the film star was buried.

Three Memorable Encounters Recalled by Edochie

In his tribute, Edochie detailed how Ekubo first visited him with a cow. Later, Ekubo invited Edochie to the premiere of a movie he worked on with his friend, Stan Nze. Edochie noted that at the event, Ekubo welcomed him with masquerades, which he described as the greatest honor he had ever received in Lagos State.

On another occasion, Ekubo visited Edochie at his hotel room with members of his family. During a separate visit, Ekubo brought kolanuts and gave Edochie N100,000 to pray for him.

Edochie Praises Ekubo's Character and Plans

Edochie described the late actor as a man of honor and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. He also revealed that Ekubo had been planning a big celebration for Edochie's 80th birthday, which was scheduled for 2026, before his untimely death.

The veteran actor also praised Ik Ogbonna, describing him as a loyal and very good friend to Ekubo both during his lifetime and after his passing. Edochie concluded by offering prayers for Ekubo's family.
