Miss Mexico Triumphs as Miss Universe 2025 Following Dramatic Pageant Season

In a stunning conclusion to one of the most controversial pageant seasons in recent memory, Fátima Bosch of Mexico has been officially crowned Miss Universe 2025. The 25-year-old's victory comes just two weeks after she found herself at the center of a viral confrontation that rocked the international beauty competition.

The Viral Confrontation That Shook the Pageant

The drama unfolded earlier in November when Thai national director Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly berated Bosch during a livestreamed sashing ceremony on November 4. The incident occurred in front of virtually all 130 contestants, with Itsaragrisil accusing the Mexican representative of not following his guidelines for local promotional activities.

When Bosch attempted to defend herself, the situation escalated dramatically. Itsaragrisil called security on the contestant, prompting Bosch to make a powerful statement by walking out of the room. Her courageous exit inspired several other contestants to join her in a show of solidarity, including Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.

Fallout and Final Triumph

The scandal continued to develop with the resignation of two judges from the competition. One of the departing judges went so far as to accuse organizers of rigging the competition, adding further controversy to an already turbulent event.

Despite the turmoil, the 74th Miss Universe final proceeded as scheduled on Thursday night at the Impact Challenger Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. This year's competition, which carried the theme "The Power of Love," saw participants from more than 130 countries and territories vying for the prestigious crown.

When the final results were announced, Fátima Bosch emerged victorious, marking a triumphant conclusion to her challenging journey. The first runner-up position went to 29-year-old Praveenar Singh of Thailand, while 25-year-old Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser of Venezuela secured third place.

Rounding out the top five were Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines in fourth position, and 27-year-old Olivia Yacé of the Ivory Coast in fifth place. The victory makes Bosch the successor to last year's winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, who made history as the first-ever Danish winner of the Miss Universe competition.
