Veteran Nigerian music star, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has publicly declared an end to his past lifestyle, specifically stating he has stopped impregnating women recklessly. The singer made this candid revelation during a recent event in Benin City, Edo State.
A Public Confession in Benin City
The African Queen crooner shared his personal declaration at the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends show in Benin City, shortly before taking the stage to perform. Speaking directly to the audience, 2Baba explained his motive was to correct public perception about his past and clear his name.
"But see, I get confession. I dey make this confession everywhere I go now to set the record straight. I don stop to dey do that kind of thing. I don stop to dey give belle anyhow. I swear, ask anybody now, they will tell you that I’m innocent," the singer stated in pidgin English.
2Baba's Complex Personal Life
For years, 2Baba's life off-stage has attracted as much attention as his music. His relationships and children have been frequent topics on social media and in public discourse.
His family history includes:
- Two sons, Zion and Nino, with his first known partner, Sumbo Adeoye. Their relationship reportedly ended around 2009.
- Three children with his second partner, Pero Adeniyi, born between 2006 and 2012.
- Two daughters with actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia. The couple married in 2012 but announced their separation in 2025.
- More recently, a child with his new partner, Natasha Osawaru, a relationship that has drawn significant public scrutiny.
This latest statement appears to be a direct address to the narratives that have surrounded these relationships.
Beyond Personal Life: 2Baba's Views on Music and Talent
This personal revelation comes shortly after the veteran artist shared his professional philosophy in a separate video message. 2Baba challenged the notion of a "wack artist," insisting that every song is created to evoke emotion.
"Every music is tailored to evoke an emotion, to create a spirit. There is nothing like a wack artist," he asserted.
He emphasized that commercial success in music often hinges more on business acumen than raw talent alone. "That is why many of the so-called wack artists are more bankable than the talented ones. Because they understand that it is not the art itself, it is the marketing of that art," 2Baba explained.
He concluded by noting that no song can appeal to everyone, and acceptance largely depends on promotion and connection with a target audience. "No matter how talented you are or how sweet your music is, there is no music that everybody likes. Everything is narrowed down to the marketing, promotion and the business," he added.
By combining a frank personal confession with sharp industry commentary, 2Baba continues to remain a prominent and provocative figure in the Nigerian entertainment landscape, sparking conversations that extend far beyond his musical catalog.
