Relative Alleges Burial Date Was Set Without Family Approval
Davido Ekubo, a relative of the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, has made further allegations against the actor's stepmother, Jane Ekubo. In a post on his Instagram page, Davido claimed that the burial date for Alexx was fixed without consulting the family. He stated that the burial was scheduled on the same day another family member was getting married, which he said caused division among relatives.
Accusations of Prioritizing Celebrities Over Family
Davido alleged that while Alexx was alive, he was actively involved in planning the wedding of that same family member alongside others. However, he claimed that the stepmother preferred to make arrangements with celebrities rather than the actor's own family. He accused her of prioritizing “the aesthetics of vanity” over proper family involvement in the burial, stressing that no matter how poor a family is, they should be allowed to bury their dead themselves.
Questions Raised About Alexx Ekubo's Death
Davido also raised concerns about how the actor died, implying that something was being concealed. He alleged that the stepmother was hiding behind celebrities and bloggers, suggesting that there may be more to the story. The allegations come days after Alexx Ekubo was buried in Arochukwu, Abia State, amid tears.

Earlier, a video surfaced showing Alexx Ekubo's sister breaking down inconsolably after seeing his body arrive in their hometown. She had to be supported by about four women during the funeral proceedings. Many viewers were emotional after watching the video and offered prayers for the family.
