Davido Wasn't Rich When We Met, Says Anu Adeleke's Mother in DNA Test Plea
Anu Adeleke's Mother Clarifies Davido's Wealth, Demands DNA

Ayotomide Labinjoh, the mother of Anu Adeleke, has publicly addressed the ongoing paternity dispute involving music superstar Davido, seeking to correct widespread misconceptions. In a detailed Instagram post, Labinjoh provided new context to their relationship history and intensified calls for an independent DNA test to resolve the long-standing saga.

Setting the Record Straight on Davido's Early Days

Labinjoh directly countered critics who suggested her pursuit of a DNA test was financially motivated. She revealed that her first encounter with Davido was in 2013 at the after-party for his Dami Duro concert in Ibadan. At that time, she described him not as the global Afrobeats icon he is today, but simply as "the son of a businessman" and an upcoming artist yet to achieve massive wealth and fame.

She provided a personal detail, recounting that Davido sent her money on the day of her daughter's naming ceremony in November 2013. Labinjoh also claimed the musician attempted to video call her on November 9, 2025, during his #5Alive concert stop in Ibadan, a call she declined.

A Mother's Plea and Critique of Media Handling

The heart of Labinjoh's message focused on the well-being of her daughter, Anu. She emphasised the emotional impact of the public dispute on the young girl, stating that children who feel abandoned often become vocal in seeking justice—a point she believes the public has misunderstood.

Labinjoh did not spare media personalities who have commented on the case. She specifically called out broadcaster Daddy Freeze, urging him to encourage Davido to take a DNA test instead of publicly defending him. She also questioned why family friend Dele Momodu had not intervened. Furthermore, she made a serious allegation against investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, claiming Olunloyo has sent them ₦300,000 annually since 2018.

The Core Demand: Acknowledgment and Independent Verification

Central to her post was a demand for Davido to acknowledge a series of DNA tests she claims have been conducted over the years. Labinjoh listed the following tests and their dates:

  • Anu Adeleke – September 2014
  • Imade Adeleke – June 2015
  • Hailey Adeleke – May 2017
  • Dawson Adeleke – June 2021
  • Ivanna Bayy – June 2023

She insists on a new, independent and transparent DNA test to finally settle the matter. Labinjoh concluded her statement by asserting her faith in God and the support of USIN Nigeria, and requested contact details for Dr. Kemi Olunloyo for further verification.

This development follows Davido's previous denial of paternity, where he stated he had conducted five DNA tests in different hospitals, all returning negative results, and declared he would not address the issue further. The contrasting narratives from both sides ensure this deeply personal dispute remains in the public eye, highlighting issues of accountability, media responsibility, and the welfare of the child at its centre.
