Businessman Blord Details Failed 'Street' Agreement With VDM Before Court Remand
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of prominent Nigerian businessman and crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, at the Kuje Correctional Centre. The court's decision followed his arraignment on multiple charges brought by social critic VeryDarkMan, including criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and unauthorized use of identity.
Blord's Instagram Revelation of Broken 'Gentleman's Agreement'
In a strongly worded Instagram post made shortly after news of his arraignment broke, Blord revealed that he and VeryDarkMan had previously reached what he described as a "gentleman's agreement" to settle their differences "the street way" without involving the court system. The businessman mocked VDM for allegedly going back on this agreement by pursuing legal action.
"Let it be in history that Blord is the first man who gave VDM a taste of his own medicine," Blord wrote in his social media statement. He further declared himself the "bully terminator," suggesting that VeryDarkMan only resorted to the court system after being unable to dominate him through public confrontation.
Court Proceedings and Witness Accounts
According to eyewitness accounts from the court proceedings, Blord reportedly pleaded with the judge during his arraignment. Ositadinma, a member of the Ratels Movement who was present at the court, described Blord's behavior in detail, comparing his pleading manner to "the dance steps of kids during choreography."
Ositadinma, who arrived at the court premises in VeryDarkMan's car, expressed admiration for how VDM handled the matter and heeded his appeal to pursue legal action against Blord. He also praised VeryDarkMan's brother, Mark Otse, for his aggressive behavior at the court premises, saying it reminded him of who he used to be.
Sowore's Intervention and Legal Representation
In a surprising development, activist Omoyele Sowore has vowed to step in to secure Blord's release from Kuje Prison. Sowore spoke out against celebrating any incarceration and revealed he had directed his lawyer, Barrister Marshal Abubakar, to withdraw from the case while pledging to work toward Blord's release.
The charges against Blord stem from allegations that he used VeryDarkMan's image and name without consent for various promotional materials, including billboards and fake event tickets. The case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of both individuals involved in the dispute.
Blord's Claim of Forcing VDM to Seek Protection
Despite his current legal predicament, Blord made the bold claim that he is the first person to make the activist seek government protection. This statement adds another layer to the ongoing public feud between the two figures, suggesting that their conflict extends beyond the immediate legal charges to broader issues of public confrontation and reputation.
The case continues to develop as legal proceedings move forward, with Blord remaining in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further court actions. The involvement of multiple high-profile individuals and the public nature of the dispute ensure that this case will remain in the public eye for the foreseeable future.
