Solomon Buchi Slams Peller for Restaurant Harassment: "He Wouldn't Try That Abroad"
Buchi Condemns Peller's Viral Restaurant Confrontation

Popular media commentator Solomon Buchi has launched a scathing critique against TikTok sensation Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, known as Peller, following a widely circulated video of a heated altercation at a Lagos restaurant. Buchi unequivocally labelled Peller's actions as harassment and questioned the establishment's security for failing to intervene.

The Viral Confrontation and Buchi's Strong Condemnation

The controversy ignited on January 7, 2026, after Peller posted a video online showing himself in a loud confrontation with an unidentified young woman at a restaurant. According to Peller's account, the dispute began when the woman complained about his noise level and called him illiterate.

In a video response shared on his Instagram page the same day, Solomon Buchi did not mince words. He framed the incident as a direct consequence of elevating inappropriate behaviour. "This is what happens when you platform stupidity, illiteracy, when you platform foolishness, it's not just foolishness, it's loud foolishness," Buchi stated. He further criticised the trend of mistaking social media followings for genuine significance or moral standing.

Security Inaction and a Call for Accountability

A significant part of Buchi's critique was directed at the restaurant's security personnel. He pointedly asked why they did not remove Peller from the premises during the incident. Buchi suggested that the fear of negative online publicity from the TikToker might have paralysed the staff.

"He was harassing that young woman. He wouldn't try that outside of Nigeria," Buchi asserted, highlighting the use of derogatory names like 'pr0stitute' as clear anti-social behaviour. He described the event as symptomatic of a broader culture where people are discouraged from calling out inappropriate conduct, especially from individuals with large online platforms.

Public Reaction and Divided Opinions

The incident and Buchi's commentary have sparked a lively debate among Nigerian netizens. While many supported Buchi's stance, others called for a more balanced view of the altercation.

Some social media users argued that the woman's initial insult triggered the escalation. One commenter noted, "We can't excuse what the lady said just cos we don't like his manner of approach... they are both wrong." Another user praised the woman's composure, writing, "She still gave him the best reply and guess what, meaningful and educated people will understand her."

Others focused on Peller's pattern of behaviour, with one reaction reading, "Peller will cease to amaze us online... this isn't hate, it's facts." Another comment criticised the celebration of such personalities, questioning societal priorities.

Beyond the specific event, Solomon Buchi used the opportunity to critique aspects of modern streaming culture, which he accused of often promoting content that is "empty, noisy, and lacking substance." He implied that Peller's conduct was a display of foolishness that might require rehabilitation, emphasising the need for more responsible content creation and public behaviour in Nigeria's digital space.
