Online personality Solomon Buchi has strongly criticised Pastor Tobi Adegboyega after the clergyman appeared to question the need for people to fear hell, urging them instead to focus on building their lives and making money. Buchi, in a reaction shared on social media, labelled Adegboyega a “false prophet” and insisted that his comments contradict core Christian teachings.
Buchi Defends the Reality of Hell
Buchi argued that while he does not support using the fear of hell to force people into serving God, he firmly believes hell is real because it is explicitly referenced in Scripture. His remarks come in response to Adegboyega’s statements, which seemed to downplay the concept of eternal damnation.
The social commentator also took issue with Adegboyega’s encouragement for people to make money and enjoy life without any mention of God, righteousness, or obedience. Buchi sees this as a dangerous deviation from the gospel message.
Adegboyega’s Logic Questioned
Furthermore, Buchi challenged the pastor’s reasoning that hell cannot be real because no one has died, gone there, and returned. He argued that the same logic could be applied to questions about the existence of Jesus Christ, thereby undermining the pastor’s argument.
Buchi’s critique has sparked discussions online, with many weighing in on the nature of hell and the responsibilities of religious leaders. The video of Adegboyega’s original remarks, shared by Linda Ikeji’s blog on Instagram, has amplified the controversy.
As the debate continues, Buchi’s stance reinforces the belief among many Christians that hell is a literal place of punishment, as taught in the Bible. The exchange highlights the ongoing tension between modern prosperity-focused preaching and traditional doctrinal teachings.
