Two prominent Nigerian social media personalities have found themselves in serious legal trouble following a physical altercation that occurred during a commercial flight. Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, alias Mr Jollof, were both arrested after exchanging blows onboard an aircraft.

The incident took place aboard a United Nigerian Airline flight traveling from Asaba International Airport in Delta State to Lagos. A viral video capturing the confrontation between the two celebrities sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms, showing the moment their verbal dispute escalated into physical violence.
Ossai Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, confirmed the development via his Facebook page. Expressing his disappointment in their behavior, Success revealed that both individuals had been "unboarded and arrested" following the incident.
Official Response from Government Aide
In his social media statement, the governor's aide did not mince words about his disapproval of their actions. "I saw VeryDarkMan collecting b*ating from Mr Jollof this morning at the Asaba International Airport," Success wrote. "They have been unboarded and arrested. I am really disappointed in both of them for fighting inside an aircraft when they should have done that on the roadside."
He specifically called out VeryDarkMan's behavior, noting that "VDM nor get mind and e get talk carelessly." The aide emphasized that his page does not support or encourage violence in any form.
Background of the Celebrity Feud
This physical confrontation appears to be the culmination of ongoing tensions between the two personalities. VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof had previously engaged in heated online exchanges, with the social media critic reportedly dragging the comedian's wife into their drama and making serious allegations about her.
The arrest comes amid other controversies surrounding VeryDarkMan. Recently, filmmaker Onyeka Nwelue called out the online critic for allegedly selling "fake" iPhones, noting the irony that VeryDarkMan began his brand by calling out businesses selling products without NAFDAC numbers.
