A Pastor at Christ Embassy Church, Claire Odii, has called on women to explore opportunities to make it in life, emphasizing that women should work hard wherever they find themselves to achieve financial independence. Odii, who works in the media department of the church, stated that working in a media house is not easy, but she ensures her efforts yield desired results.
Empowering Women Through Hard Work
“Women should work hard to make it in life rather than depending on their male counterparts. I handle the camera myself when it comes to journalism work,” Odii said. “Therefore, I encourage women to play major roles in their workplaces, businesses, and every aspect of their lives for their own good.”
She made these remarks during her 50th birthday celebration held at the Cornerstone, Christ Embassy Church in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. Odii added that she has worked with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder of the church, for 31 years.
Journey of Faith and Service
“I joined the Christ Embassy ministry in 1995. At that time, I was confused because I did not have an understanding of my identity. Sometimes I thought I was holy, sometimes I thought I was dirty,” she recalled. She explained that through preaching the gospel, her pastor taught her the word of righteousness, and through that word, she came to know who she is as a child of God.
“Where your mind is now, it is at rest because you know your mission and purpose, and you are on the path to fulfilling them,” Odii said. She noted that many people do not achieve their potential in life because they do not know the word of God.
“But I have come to know Christ since I was much younger, and I have been on the same path till date. I have been preaching the gospel and impacting lives because this gospel is not a profession but a real life,” she stated.
Impact Through the Gospel
“The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ gives meaning to our daily lives, and through the gospel, we can give meaning to other people’s lives. We are winning souls for Christ through the Rhapsody of Reality, the Healing Schools, and all the things we do in the ministry,” Odii said.
She emphasized that at 50, she is celebrating her life in Christ with understanding, as the Bible says to praise God with understanding. “So I am not just following blindly, but I have the understanding of my impact in the gospel. I understand my role in the gospel, so I am celebrating the opportunity God has given me. We are touching lives globally, so it is a celebration of life.”
Gratitude for God’s Faithfulness
Odii described 50 years as no joke but a thing of joy for everyone around the world as she celebrates God’s faithfulness. “It is an opportunity to thank God and thank the people in my life, as many have come and gone within this phase of 50 years.”
“I thank God for the celebration of my birthday because many people graced the occasion—my church members, ministry directors, my colleagues—they all came to grace the occasion. I am grateful. Including Central Executive Council (CEC) members in the church, I am very grateful,” she concluded.
