Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has addressed fans concerned about her marital status with a humorous announcement that she is heading back to school for another degree. The musician, entrepreneur, and billionaire heiress shared a video on her Snapchat page showing her walking confidently in an all-black outfit alongside a white man and a woman with a dog. In the caption, she wrote, “To those worried about my marital status, I'm on my way to get another degree.”
A History of Academic Pursuits
DJ Cuppy earned her fourth degree in 2024 from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has remained deeply involved in academia, including a pledge to support exceptional students at King's African Leadership Centre for the next five years at King's College London, where she is also an alumna. Despite her academic focus, Otedola has been open about her desire to marry and start a family, even taking her search for a partner to LinkedIn in 2025. In that post, she wrote, “Linkedln... I'm looking for a man in finance: 6 foot, brown eyes,” accompanied by a photo of herself pretending to cry.
Past Relationships and Comments
An old video of the DJ resurfaced in which she stated, “I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me. My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married, and that’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi.” DJ Cuppy has been in high-profile relationships with ex-Nigerian international footballer Victor Anichebe, Nigerian music executive Asa Asika, and British professional boxer Ryan Taylor. Her latest post is a cheeky reply to those curious about when she will tie the knot, especially after her sister Temi married Mr Eazi in a three-continent lavish wedding in 2025.
