Ghanaian witch doctor Nana Kwaku Bonsam has threatened to place a curse on England captain Harry Kane ahead of the crucial World Cup group stage match between Ghana and England on Tuesday. Both teams are vying for top spot in the group to secure a place in the knockout rounds.
Curse Aimed at Stopping England's Star Player
Bonsam, who claims responsibility for Cristiano Ronaldo's knee injury during the 2014 World Cup, told the Daily Star: 'I am working on Harry Kane. I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him. I am very famous for my predictions.' He added that he does not wish serious injury on Kane, but enough to hinder his performance against Ghana.
Witch Doctor's Claims and Past Actions
Bonsam asserts his powers come from the Kofi Oo Kofi shrine and labels himself 'Africa's only Authentic Man'. In 2014, he claimed responsibility for Ronaldo's injury, stating: 'I know what Cristiano Ronaldo's injury is about, I'm working on him. I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana.' He insisted the injury was spiritual and could not be cured by medics.
Impact on the Upcoming Match
England and Ghana are both hoping to secure three points to top their group and advance to the knockout stage. Kane, who scored twice in England's opening win against Croatia, is a key player for the Three Lions. Bonsam's curse could potentially affect Kane's performance, though the validity of such claims remains unproven.
