American singer and songwriter LeAnn Rimes has canceled several more of her upcoming concerts after revealing a diagnosis of severe laryngitis. The 43-year-old artist shared the news on her Instagram Story on Friday, explaining that a bout with COVID-19 led to the condition.
Diagnosis and Rescheduled Shows
“A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news and I wanted to tell you as soon as I could,” Rimes wrote. As a result, her performances in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio, have been rescheduled for November 6 and 7, respectively. Tickets already purchased will be honored for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend.
Emotional Announcement
“It breaks my heart, having to schedule these shows. There is no place I would rather be next week than celebrating with all of you,” she continued. “However, this is sadly out of my hands until I get this under control.”
This update follows the cancellation of her Spokane and Seattle performances earlier in the week. Rimes had recently celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary with husband Eddie Cibrian in Mexico, where she briefly alluded to her health in a lighthearted post, joking about staying together “in perimenopause and in health.”
