TikToker Begs Ned Nwoko for Forgiveness After False Assassination Claim
Man Who Accused Ned Nwoko Pleads for Forgiveness

A Nigerian social media personality who made serious allegations against Senator Ned Nwoko has performed a dramatic public U-turn, releasing videos where he pleads for forgiveness on his knees. The incident, which unfolded in early December 2025, highlights the volatile nature of online content creation and its real-world consequences.

From Viral Allegation to Public Apology

The man, who gained notoriety on the platform TikTok under the moniker 'Liar of TikTok', initially went viral with a video claiming that Senator Ned Nwoko had sponsored a plot to assassinate his wife, popular actress Regina Daniels. This claim spread rapidly online, fueled by existing rumors of marital tension between the celebrity couple.

However, the situation took a sharp turn after Senator Nwoko reacted to the initial video. Following the senator's response, the content creator posted a series of new clips showing him in a state of remorse. In one particularly striking video, the man is seen shirtless and on his knees, desperately appealing for mercy.

The Plea: "I Have Nobody"

In his emotional plea for forgiveness, the TikToker retracted his earlier statements, admitting they were fabricated for online engagement. "Sir, please forgive me. I use the God you are serving to beg, please forgive me. I will not do it again," he said directly to the camera, addressing Senator Nwoko.

He emphasized his vulnerability, stating, "I have nobody, I have no mother, I have no father, I have nobody to come out for me. Sir, if they carry me, I am finished." He clarified the motive behind his original post, explaining, "You didn’t send me anything; it’s content I am doing." This admission underscores the extreme lengths some creators will go to generate views and virality.

Senator's Reaction and Public Backlash

Senator Ned Nwoko had previously condemned the initial viral video, using it as an example of the dangers of unregulated social media. He stated that the platform demonstrated Nigeria's social media space had become "one of the most unregulated in the world," where individuals can freely make damaging accusations purely for clout.

The apology videos sparked a wave of reactions from Nigerians on social media, with many expressing little sympathy for the content creator. User Nwafresh commented, "If Simon Ekpa went to prison after telling the Finland government that he's a content creator then you too must taste that jail." Another user, Iam_fizy, sarcastically suggested, "They just gave you a new niche, to do content inside kirikiri, nobody don try that one, go start am, we go dey support you."

Others criticized the blurring line between entertainment and serious allegations. User Gstar01T noted, "Omo everything shouldn’t be content... matters are peoples lives for Gods sake." User herownvee questioned the man's credibility altogether, asking, "Mr. Liar of tiktok, how do we even know when to believe you? Is this another lie?"

The controversy also played out against the backdrop of Regina Daniels' own social media activity. Around the same time, the actress flooded her page with photos and clips from a luxury shopping spree, showcasing bags from high-end brand Louis Vuitton, which many interpreted as her way of addressing the rumors of marital strife.
