Fans of the global hit series Stranger Things are in for a surprise, as its star, Millie Bobby Brown, has officially unveiled a significant change to her identity following her marriage to Jake Bongiovi.
A New Chapter, A New Name
The 21-year-old actress, who married Jon Bon Jovi's son last year and later adopted a baby girl, clarified her new name during a recent interview. The revelation came about in a conversation with her co-star, Noah Schnapp, when he was asked if he knew her full name.
Noah confidently stated, "It's Millie Bonnie Brown." Millie immediately interrupted, prompting him to adjust his guess to "Millie Bonnie Brown Bongiovi," and even adding "Bobby." The actress quickly stopped him, saying, "No Bobby. Start again."
Dropping the Brown and Bobby
After another failed attempt from Noah, Millie Bobby Brown delivered the final verdict: "Drop the Brown." She then clearly stated that her name is now Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. She even joked that people could affectionately shorten it to "Millie Bon Bon."
This isn't the first time the actress has clarified the story behind her name. Earlier this year, while promoting her Netflix film *The Electric State* with Chris Pratt, she revealed for the first time that her real middle name is Bonnie.
When a disbelieving Pratt reacted with "Millie Bobby Bonnie Brown?", she corrected him, saying, "No, it's not Bobby. It's Millie Bonnie Brown." She explained that she chose 'Bobby' for her stage name simply for fun, thinking it sounded more unique for her acting career.
Embracing Motherhood and a New Identity
The name change coincides with a joyful new chapter in her personal life. In August of this year, Millie and Jake Bongiovi confirmed the arrival of their adopted daughter.
In a joint message, the couple shared, "This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy." They signed off the heartwarming announcement with, "And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi."
