A 60-year-old Nigerian woman, Doyinsola A Ilori, has shared a deeply personal story about the end of her marriage and the surprising path her ex-husband's life took afterwards. In a candid Facebook post, she revealed that her former spouse has married five different women in the ten years since he left her.
A Mother's Sacrifice in a Loveless Marriage
Doyinsola, a mother of four, explained that she had once considered leaving her marriage due to persistent disputes and infidelity. However, she made the difficult choice to stay for the sake of her children, enduring what she describes as a loveless relationship. Her husband's approach, when he decided to end things, was starkly different. According to her, he left without considering the impact on their family.
She recalled pleading with him to think about how a divorce would affect their children. His reported response was to tell the children that his own happiness was more important than them, before walking away.

In her post, which was a reaction to the public altercation between singer Tuface Idibia and his wife, Natasha, Doyinsola made a broader observation about relationships. She stated that men often leave their partners only to replace them with what she calls "the worst version of us."
She suggested that by the time these men realize their mistake, pride prevents them from admitting it. "They blow everything to smithereens," she wrote, mixing English and Yoruba to emphasize the destructive nature of such departures.
Five Marriages in a Decade
The most striking detail of her revelation is the marital history of her ex-husband post-divorce. Doyinsola disclosed that he has married five other women in the ten years since he absconded and they divorced. She added a pointed remark, implying that if any of these women were better than her, he would have stopped his search.
She humorously challenged her readers to a bet, noting he is now on his seventh marriage. Doyinsola expressed pity for the children involved in this cycle, quipping that if not for them, he might continue changing wives indefinitely.
