Niniola's Heartfelt Tribute to Late Husband Michael Ndika

Afro-house artist Niniola Apata has paid a deeply emotional tribute to her late husband and manager, Michael Ndika, who passed away at the age of 44. The singer, who was married to Ndika for 13 years, announced his death through a series of heartfelt social media posts.

Niniola Remembers Her Husband

In her tribute, Niniola described Ndika as her everything. She said, "Michael did everything for me. He was breathing for me. He loved me so much. I learnt so much from him. When he met me, he said, ‘I will make you a superstar.’ Michael was my engine. He was the first person I saw in the morning and the last person at night."

The singer revealed that her husband was her greatest pillar of support, often persuading her to continue with her music career whenever she considered stepping away. "But Michael met me raw, and he said, ‘I’ll make you a superstar.’ And he did. I was just the face and the voice, but Michael was the engine," she reflected.

Michael Ndika's Legacy

Ndika was a prominent figure in the Nigerian music industry, best known as the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform that played a vital role in promoting Afro-house and contemporary African music. Colleagues and industry insiders have described him as a strategic thinker who helped define the early days of digital music promotion and artist development in Nigeria.

Before his music career, he built a solid professional background as a systems engineer and IT specialist, which informed his methodical approach to management. The couple's professional partnership began in 2013 following Niniola's time on Project Fame West Africa. Ndika became her manager shortly after, guiding her through the release of her debut single and remaining a constant presence throughout her rise to stardom.
