A Nigerian pastor has sparked debate with his advice to women regarding financial responsibilities in marriage. Ufuom Bernard stated that nine out of ten men hate their wives when they pay the bills at home, and such men will eventually leave their wives for other women they can provide for.
Men and Financial Ego
According to Bernard, providing for a woman feeds a man's ego, and he loses that ego when he cannot give. He advised women to leave men who cannot provide for them financially.
He wrote: "Doc, you're relatively right but miss the salient point. On a scale of 1-10, 9 men detest wives who pick their bills because patriarchy say NO. Men are patriarchal. This is classical male chauvinism. This is not only cultural but biological."
Pastor's Observations
"As a pastor I see things even if I choose not to talk. A dude will take money from the wife and lavish it on a random girl. Giving to a woman feeds the ego of men while taking from a woman bruises his ego," he added.
He further stated: "Unless a man is down with debilitating disease no Alfa woman (except pick me) should lift a finger to feed a man. Push him to the street."
Reaction to a Woman's Post
Bernard's post was in reaction to a lady who wrote that she has no issues helping her husband financially when he is down. His comment stating that men hate wives who handle their financial responsibilities has now been endorsed by many men.
