Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has accused his older brother and former P-Square manager, Jude Okoye, of wanting to be the Don Jazzy of P-Square during his time managing the group. The allegation is part of a series of revelations Peter has made in an ongoing family feud that has escalated publicly.
Jude's Alleged Ambition
In a new video shared on his Instagram page, Peter claimed that Jude felt pressured by the success of the Mo'Hit group, led by iconic producer Don Jazzy. According to Peter, Jude sought the spotlight for himself, wanting to be treated like Don Jazzy, who is also a label boss and musician.
Peter narrated that during press runs, Jude would answer questions posed to the duo, projecting himself as the creative force behind P-Square. He quoted Jude's desire: "All Jude wanted was for Paul and me to project him as the Don Jazzy of P-Square."
Contributions and Insecurities
Peter also revealed that his twin brothers, Paul and Jude, felt insecure about the success of the Mo'Hit group, which included artists like D'banj. He said they had a competitive spirit that made him uncomfortable, as they were keen on competing with the Mo'Hit crew, who dominated the 2000s Nigerian music scene alongside P-Square and 2Baba.
Addressing Jude's contribution to P-Square's music, Peter stated that while Jude did contribute, it came after the group had already achieved fame. He emphasized that the group's albums were produced by the twins, and the music videos were primarily shot by cinematographer Clarence Peters. Peter also claimed he personally shot the choreographed videos for hit songs 'Alingo', 'Shekina', and 'Personally'.
Escalating Family Feud
These allegations are the latest in a decade-long dispute among the Okoye brothers. Peter has accused his brothers of bullying, harassment, and stealing millions of dollars from him. The fraud allegations are currently under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and are subject to litigation.
In one of the most shocking revelations, Peter said his family, led by his mother, opposed his relationship with his now-wife, Lola Omotayo. He claimed that although his mother and elder brother Henry later apologized, Paul and Jude refused to do so.
Reactions and Responses
Since Peter began sharing details, Jude has denied the allegations in a video response. Meanwhile, the management of Paul (Rudeboy) released a statement insisting the matter is a family issue and would be handled responsibly.
As the feud continues, fans and observers await further developments, with the public airing of private grievances showing no signs of abating.
