Former Big Brother Naija winner Josephina Otabor, known as Phyna, has broken down in tears on social media, revealing that she is now broke after distributing her ₦100 million prize money to family members. In a TikTok live session on Saturday, she lamented that relatives only valued her for what they could gain from her, and her problems began when she started saying no.

Phyna cried uncontrollably as she recounted how she gave away her Big Brother Naija winnings to every family member facing financial hardship until the money ran out. She claimed no one advised her to invest, as they were only interested in taking from her. She said she drilled boreholes for family members and supported them whenever they approached her.
According to her, her father went to Vanguard to request an interview and speak negatively about her. She also claimed he wanted her to buy a specific roofing sheet, but she refused due to the cost. Despite everything, she said her family never saw anything good in her.
Defending Her Job as a Waiter
Phyna's breakdown came hours after she responded to online criticism over a video of her working as a waiter. During an Instagram live session, she questioned why Nigerians look down on jobs like waiting tables and cleaning, which are respected abroad. She maintained that there is dignity in honest labor and that she is not ashamed to earn a living.
She also disclosed that brands no longer offer reality stars deals as they did before. She asked, “What would you have me do when brands no longer want people to influence for them, and maybe I cannot secure a 9-5 job? The pay is not it. You have to wait monthly to collect a maximum of N300k. What will that do for me?”
