Nollywood actress Susan Peters has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians after her iPhone 16 Pro Max was reportedly stolen during the service of songs held in honor of late actor Alexx Ekubo. The actress disclosed that her white iPhone 16 Pro Max disappeared at the emotional event, leaving her distressed and seeking public assistance.
Susan Peters Appeals for Return of Stolen iPhone
Susan Peters took to her Instagram page to plead with whoever took the device to return it. According to the actress, the stolen phone is linked to her United States line and remains locked, rendering it useless to anyone else. She emphasized that beyond the monetary value, the device contains crucial personal information she cannot afford to lose. Peters also noted that her photograph appears on the phone's screensaver, making it easy to identify the rightful owner.
In her appeal, she wrote: "It's a white iPhone 16 Pro Max. With my US line, it's a locked phone, so it's useless to whoever has it. If you found it, please return it because I have information there that I cannot lose." She assured that she would personally retrieve the phone if contacted privately.
Shock Over Theft at a Solemn Event
What upset Susan Peters the most was the timing and location of the theft. Alexx Ekubo's service of songs was a somber gathering attended by family, friends, colleagues, and fans who came together to honor the late actor's memory. The actress expressed disbelief that someone could engage in theft during such a solemn occasion. She questioned: "How do people come to such an emotional event and still have the guts to steal?"
Her plea quickly drew sympathy from followers who shared her frustration. Peters claimed she was not the only victim, stating that up to 10 phones were allegedly stolen during the event. As a precaution, she had already changed passwords linked to applications on the stolen device and announced a reward for anyone who helps recover the phone.
BamBam Also Lost Phone at Same Event
Susan Peters' revelation came shortly after actress BamBam disclosed that she too lost her phone at the same gathering. BamBam later clarified that her personal assistant, who was wrongly accused by some online users, had nothing to do with the disappearance. According to BamBam, the phone went missing after the event, not at the entrance where she briefly handed it to her assistant.
Alexx Ekubo's Father Speaks on Son's Death
In related news, Legit.ng reported that Alexx Ekubo's father, Mazi Alex Ekubo, broke his silence for the first time since his son's death in May. Unable to personally read the tribute due to emotional weight, he had his message delivered by one of Alexx's brothers at the memorial. He recalled the exact moment he received the devastating news, stating that nothing in his long life prepared him for the pain of losing a child.
Susan Peters' ordeal has sparked conversations about security at public events and the need for vigilance even in moments of grief. The actress continues to hope for the safe return of her device and the valuable data it holds.
