VDM Defends Gbajabiamila on ₦400m Bribe, Raises ₦54bn Claim

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has publicly defended Femi Gbajabiamila, President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, against the widely circulated allegation that he accepted a ₦400 million bribe. In a recent video, VDM stated that no evidence has been presented to substantiate the claim, and therefore Gbajabiamila should not be accused of taking the bribe.

VDM Shifts Focus to ₦54 Billion NUPRC Release

Despite clearing Gbajabiamila on the bribery front, VDM immediately introduced a fresh allegation. He questioned an alleged presidential directive that reportedly led to the release of ₦54 billion from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). VDM argued that this arrangement deserves public scrutiny, implying that the directive may have been improper.

As of the time of this report, no investigative or judicial authority has confirmed VDM's latest claim. The allegation remains unverified, and no official findings have been released to substantiate it.

Presidency Maintains Stance on PFIPC Controversy

The Presidency has repeatedly insisted that Gbajabiamila has no connection with the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). President Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the PFIPC matter and all related allegations. To date, no official findings have emerged that support VDM's new claim.

Say all you know so if we must believe you, we should do so based on facts we processed not based on own perception."

Another user, @charles_chally, noted: "The man said they requested for 48% of the allocation, who is the person dat requested for dat percentage?? Why is Gbajabiamila mentioned at dat point? Why wld it be after he refused to remit the percentage dat the whole saga came up??"

VDM's Previous Controversies

In a separate incident, VDM had earlier reacted to Pastor Chris Okafor's apology video concerning his case with Doris Ogala. VDM shed fake tears and became dramatic while sharing his interpretation of what the cleric had said to his congregation. He also shared chats the cleric allegedly had with his daughter to counter some of the claims made about her.
