Before getting down on one knee, Bolt gave a short speech about Bennett's place in his life and their journey together. He revealed that one of his motivations for the proposal was a promise he had made to Bennett for years.

“Me and Kassi been dating for 13 going to 14 years. She has been by my side after three beautiful kids, tough and happy times. She knows I love her very much. I'll do anything for her and for years upon years, I've been promising and promising that I was going to marry her so, this is the moment,” Bolt said, according to the report.

The unsuspecting Bennett appeared shocked as Bolt, dressed in a neatly tailored suit, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The proposal was followed by Bruno Mars' “Marry You” song as the couple shared an excited embrace with family and friends.

Bolt and Bennett began dating in 2013 and kept their relationship private before going public. They have three children: daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt, born in 2020, and twin sons Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt, born in 2021.
