A Nigerian woman has publicly called out controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, for allegedly paying her a fraction of a promised fee for a music collaboration.
The Accusation: A Promise of Millions, Payment of Thousands
In an emotional interview conducted in Yoruba, which surfaced online around December 26, 2025, the woman detailed her ordeal. She stated that she approached Portable for a feature on her song, hoping to boost her music career by leveraging his fame.
According to her account, Portable publicly promised her the sum of ₦1 million for the collaboration. Encouraged by this promise, she proceeded with the project. However, upon completion, she was shocked to receive a drastically reduced payment.
"Portable promised me 1 million Naira online but sent me 20k offline through my manager," she lamented, expressing feelings of betrayal and significant financial loss. The payment of ₦20,000 was reportedly sent via her manager.
A Pattern of Financial Disputes for the Zazoo Crooner
This incident is not an isolated one in Portable's controversial career. The singer, famous for hits like "Zazoo Zeh," has been involved in several public financial disagreements.
In October 2025, he made headlines for rejecting a ₦1 million gift from influencer Blord, citing pride, despite frequently flaunting his wealth on social media.
Earlier in December 2025, he engaged in a heated clash with influencer Saida Boj over a ₦10 million collaboration fee she could not afford, leading to leaked chats and a social media feud.
Netizens React: Mockery and Sympathy
The woman's allegations sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many Nigerians mocking the singer's actions.
@Honor_Abimbola joked: "Person wey no go school, he didn't count the zero very well. Just help him add two zeros to it."
@iamokamas1 commented: "She even lucky to have gotten 20k, portable that is unstable in all his ways and also relies on giveaways to make up for his finances."
Others, like @Collinzosky, offered a more sympathetic view to the situation: "She should be thankful that at least she got something. No one except the politicians are finding it easy now in this country."
Some users predicted future drama, with @iamthepreence stating: "Portable is definitely coming back to say the song no block or make any return. He's going to accuse her of denting his glory."
This controversy adds to Portable's history of headline-grabbing incidents, which recently included placing a ₦500,000 bounty on a lookalike he accused of performing his copyrighted songs for a fee as low as ₦250,000, compared to his own purported performance fee of over ₦10 million.
