Oyo State Announces Month-Long 'Vibing December' Festivities for 2025
Oyo Unveils Complete Vibing December Programme

The Oyo State Government has officially launched an extensive programme for the much-anticipated Vibing December celebrations, setting the stage for a month-long festive experience that will span across multiple locations in the state.

Comprehensive Festive Programme Unveiled

During a press conference held at the Cultural Centre in Ibadan, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Wasiu Olatubosun detailed the complete schedule for what is also known as Faaji December. The commissioner emphasized that this initiative represents a collaborative effort between the state government and numerous private and corporate organizers.

Olatubosun confirmed that the festivities will run from December 1, 2025, to January 2, 2026, effectively transforming Oyo State into a vibrant center of cultural expression and entertainment throughout the holiday season.

Statewide Celebrations and Security Assurance

The commissioner made it clear that the celebrations will not be confined to Ibadan alone but will occur simultaneously in various parts of Oyo State. This decentralized approach aims to ensure that residents across the state can participate in the festivities without needing to travel to the capital.

Addressing potential security concerns, Olatubosun assured the public that comprehensive security measures have been implemented to protect lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations. This assurance comes as the state prepares for increased visitor numbers during the peak festive period.

The widespread nature of the events across multiple cities is designed to distribute economic benefits throughout the state.

Meanwhile, music lovers have additional reason to celebrate as the Shakara Festival promises a groundbreaking four-day music and culture experience in Lagos. Scheduled for Nautica Beach Resort in Lekki from Thursday, December 18 to Sunday, December 21, this first-of-its-kind outdoor multi-day music festival is set to complement the Oyo celebrations.
