TFG 2026 Drives Comprehensive Efforts to Close Fashion Cluster Gaps in Aba
As thousands of fashion producers in Aba continue to face significant barriers including limited access to finance, inadequate intellectual property protection, a lack of skills certification, and poor market linkages, key stakeholders are preparing to gather in the city for the highly anticipated second edition of The Fashion Games (TFG 2026). This major event represents a critical initiative designed to address these systemic challenges and unlock the immense potential of the local fashion ecosystem.
Stakeholders Converge for Transformative Fashion Event
TFG 2026, which is being organized by Ethnocentrique Limited, is scheduled to take place from April 28 to 29 in Aba, Abia State. The event is expected to bring together an impressive gathering of 10,000 participants including fashion producers, buyers, policymakers, and enthusiastic supporters of the industry. This convergence aims to create meaningful connections and foster collaboration across different sectors of the fashion value chain.
Building a Framework for Sustainable Enterprise Development
Irunna Ejibe, the Chief Executive Officer of Ethnocentrique Limited, emphasized that the organization is actively building a comprehensive framework that transforms existing creativity within the ecosystem into viable enterprises. This framework strategically links various stakeholders including government agencies, private sector players, and a customized apprenticeship system designed to develop local talent. Ejibe further explained that the organization's initiatives, which include both TFG and the Fashion Future Programme (FFP), have already produced numerous graduates and successfully connected producers with buyers as part of ongoing efforts to address critical gaps in the ecosystem.
Building on Previous Success and Setting Ambitious Goals
According to the event organizers, the 2025 edition of TFG recorded substantial achievements including 4,500 attendees, engagement with 1,400 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and graduation of 2,000 participants under the FFP. This program was implemented in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, demonstrating the collaborative approach being taken to support the fashion industry's development.
Jeremiah Ubunama, the Chief Operating Officer of Ethnocentrique Limited, expressed strong optimism about the future potential of the Aba fashion production cluster. He projected that with adequate support including proper financing mechanisms, robust intellectual property systems, and improved market infrastructure, the cluster could potentially grow into a $3 billion market within the next five to ten years. This ambitious vision underscores the transformative potential of coordinated intervention in the sector.
Comprehensive Event Programming with Multiple Components
The upcoming TFG 2026 event, which carries the theme "AHIA 360," will feature a diverse range of activities designed to address different aspects of the fashion ecosystem.
