Nigerian viewers are in for a fresh dose of homegrown entertainment as premier media company, Ithac Productions, prepares to launch two exciting new television series. Titled 'Girls Zone' and 'My Hood', the shows are scheduled to hit screens in the first quarter of 2026.
Plot and Premise of the Upcoming Shows
Girls Zone will dive into the lives of five young women sharing an apartment, chronicling their daily activities and how they navigate various life challenges. Its counterpart, My Hood, shifts focus to a group of teenagers who leverage their intelligence and resourcefulness to tackle problems within their community.
The production boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring popular faces such as Obadafe Blessing, Rukie Iloyi, Blessing Jinadu, Reiann Andrews, and Alexa Anyogu, among others. This star power is expected to draw significant attention to the series upon release.
Broadcast Reach and Production Vision
The television series have secured a wide broadcast footprint. Audiences in Nigeria, South Africa, East Africa, and several European countries will be able to watch the shows on selected stations starting early 2026.
In an official statement, Usman Temitope Famuditimi, the Chairman, Managing Director, and Executive Producer of ITHAC/ITHACCP, outlined the company's dual role. He explained that Ithac Productions provides both technical facilities and creative concepts spanning science, technology, education, and entertainment.
Amplifying Everyday Stories
Famuditimi expressed strong confidence that these two offerings will give series enthusiasts compelling reasons to stay glued to their televisions. He described both titles as "stories that feel close to home," emphasizing a core mission to amplify voices and experiences that are frequently overlooked in mainstream media.
"We want audiences to see themselves on screen—not in a polished, unreachable way, but in the raw, real form that makes our everyday stories powerful," Famuditimi stated. This approach underscores a commitment to authentic, relatable storytelling that resonates deeply with local and international viewers.
The announcement marks a significant step for Ithac Productions as it expands its creative portfolio and aims to deliver impactful entertainment that reflects contemporary African experiences to a global audience in 2026.
