Vision Behind the Concert

Speaking after the event, co-organiser Oluwafemi Abegunde, a Principal Consultant at Arch Raphael Limited, explained the vision. “Africa’s language is music and dance, and we export our talents globally, but it’s important to bring the talents home to connect with others,” he said. “Lagos is not all about ‘Detty December’. There are other activities, and the Ileya holiday is one of the best times to stage an experience like this—have beautiful original African sounds. The artists that performed tonight are the representatives of who we are.”

“This is the maiden edition of many editions. We are not rookies when it comes to entertainment. Africans love music, and we will continue to curate experiences for the audiences,” Abegunde added.

Improving the Creative Industry

Speaking on how to improve the creative industry, the CEO said: “There must be continued deliberate efforts. More investment is needed to make music contribute and be beneficial to everybody.”
