Nollywood Actress Breaks Silence on On-Set Conflict
Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has publicly addressed the ongoing controversy with fellow actor Taye Arimoro, providing her detailed account of events that transpired during a recent film production. Through a series of Instagram stories posted on December 11, 2025, Ovire shared what she describes as the true version of incidents that have sparked discussion within the entertainment industry.
The Incident That Sparked the Conflict
According to Peggy Ovire's statement, the situation began when crew members approached Taye Arimoro with a simple request. The production team pleaded with him to complete two short scenes so they could finally wrap up filming after a long day. The actress revealed that Arimoro had arrived on set around noon that day, but when filming extended into the night hours, he decided to leave without providing proper notice.
Ovire explained that the atmosphere had been cordial between them until she asked the actor to quickly shoot one additional scene before recording his behind-the-scenes content. "You reacted sharply when I tried to talk to you, so I decided to give you space," she recounted in her social media posts.
Escalation to Physical Violence
The situation took a dramatic turn when the Production Manager intervened to appeal for more cooperation. Peggy claims that Taye Arimoro became physically aggressive, resulting in the Production Manager being punched three times and ending up on the floor. She stated that this assault occurred before the driver could come out to assist.
When Peggy herself came out to intervene, she found the situation had already escalated beyond control. She further alleged that her driver was later discovered bleeding from the ear after allegedly being hit multiple times by the actor. The actress also accused Arimoro of driving off while she was still standing beside his vehicle, potentially putting her safety at risk.
Social Media Response and Motives
Peggy Ovire expressed particular concern about what she described as selective sharing on social media. She claimed that Taye Arimoro went live to record the crew's reaction while deliberately leaving out the part where the violence allegedly began. In her statement, she emphasized that the crew members targeted lacked significant social media presence or influential voices to defend them.
The actress concluded her detailed account by clarifying that her decision to speak out wasn't driven by anger but by a desire to "set the record straight" about what truly happened during that contentious filming night. Her revelations have sparked conversations about workplace safety and treatment of crew members within the Nollywood industry.
