Eyewitness Video Debunks GehGeh's Claim of Burnt Mansion, Sparks Online Reactions
Video Debunks GehGeh's Claim His House Was Burnt

A recent social media controversy involving popular Nigerian internet personality GehGeh has taken a new turn after an eyewitness video surfaced online, directly contradicting his claims.

Video Evidence Contradicts Viral Claim

The drama began when GehGeh posted on his Instagram page, sharing a photo of a burnt building and lamenting the cruelty of people. This post, published around December 23, 2025, sparked widespread sympathy and concern among his followers and the broader online community, who believed his newly built mansion had been destroyed by fire.

However, the narrative was challenged when a user on Instagram, @Stanley Aaron, reposted a video from an eyewitness who visited the property. The clip, filmed in the early morning, shows a man standing outside GehGeh's compound. He proceeds to film the exterior of the building from various angles, providing a clear view of its condition.

"Nothing Do Am": A Clear Debunking

The man in the video emphatically states that the house shows no visible signs of fire damage. He focuses on the walls, roof, and surrounding environment, pointing out the absence of smoke stains, structural collapse, or any other indicators that a recent fire had occurred. The building appears intact and in excellent condition.

In his pidgin English caption accompanying the post, the eyewitness urged people not to believe everything they see online. He said: "Don't believe everything you see on social media. See house wey them say e burn. See am... Gehgeh house burn. For the whole of social media, e don burn. But for real life, see the house here. See the house nothing do am. Nothing do the house."

Nigerians React to the Revealing Clip

The debunking video triggered a flood of reactions from Nigerians on social media, with many expressing skepticism about the original claim and the nature of online stories.

User @MOJERE_AANU commented, "Na lie joor. I am just coming from some page now I saw it clearly nothing do hin house ooo. Na AI abeg." This sentiment, suggesting the original burnt image might have been created with artificial intelligence, was echoed by others.

Another user, @Ariduñu01, offered a different perspective, noting, "Not only poor people dey vex, sometime u reach people dey envy una self trying to bring who is coming up to ur standard down."

The controversy also led to broader reflections, as seen in the comment by @D_STARBOY_01, who linked it to other online misfortunes: "2025 no be good luck for some ppl grhh geh house burn down his account was banned... may nothing like dis happen to ppl next year in Jesus name."

This incident follows previous reports where a young Nigerian man humorously rejected the online classes offered by GehGeh and fellow influencer SaidaBoj, pledging allegiance to veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo instead.

The episode serves as a stark reminder of the speed at which unverified information can spread on social media and the importance of seeking evidence before forming conclusions.
