Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 Vows to Sustain Medical Aid for Lagos Community

The Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to improving healthcare access in the Ogombo community of Lagos State. This pledge follows a highly successful medical outreach programme conducted recently, which provided vital services to residents.

Comprehensive Medical Outreach Details

In collaboration with its partners, the club offered free medical services that included general health checks, breast cancer screenings, and vaccinations. The outreach specifically distributed 51 reading glasses, screened 25 women for breast cancer, de-wormed 200 children, and administered Measles and Rubella vaccinations. Additionally, insecticide-treated nets were provided to 150 households to combat malaria.

Leadership Commitment and Future Plans

President of the Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1, Comfort Anorue, emphasised the critical importance of preventive healthcare in her address. She announced the club's ambitious plans to revamp the Gbara Health Post, ensure the provision of potable water, and enhance medical services and staffing within the community.

"We are committed to making healthcare services accessible to underserved residents in Ogombo," Anorue stated. "We acknowledge the healthcare challenges facing the community and pledge to continue our support."

The club has issued a call to action, urging both government bodies and private individuals to join forces in addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the Ogombo community. "Together, we can make a lasting impact," Anorue added, highlighting the necessity of collective action for sustainable health improvements.
