Lady Calls Out Private Hospital Over Dismissive Doctor After Failed Treatment
Lady Calls Out Private Hospital Over Dismissive Doctor

A Nigerian lady has publicly criticized a private hospital in Egbeda, alleging that a doctor gave her a dismissive response when she returned to the facility after her condition failed to improve following treatment. The lady, who shared her experience on social media, recounted that she visited the hospital after feeling unwell and was diagnosed with typhoid and malaria after undergoing several tests.

Doctor Offered Two Treatment Options

According to her account, the doctor presented her with two treatment options: admission at N100,000 or outpatient treatment at N50,000. She opted for the cheaper outpatient option and was given medication to take for three days. However, after completing the treatment, she claimed she still felt unwell and returned to the hospital after experiencing weakness and feeling like she might faint.

She alleged that when she asked to see the doctor and explained how she was feeling, the doctor reminded her that he had initially recommended admission and told her she had chosen the other option. The lady questioned why the hospital offered her the second option if it was not considered adequate for her condition.

Patient Questioned Hospital's Practices

She said she asked how many days she would need to be admitted if she eventually chose the first option, but claimed the doctor could not give her a definite answer. The lady concluded by urging private hospitals to improve how they handle patients, particularly when their conditions do not improve after treatment.

“Private hospitals, you need to do better; you’re putting people’s lives at stake,” she said in her post, which was shared alongside a video of her recounting the encounter. The incident has sparked discussions online about patient care and transparency in private healthcare facilities in Nigeria.
