She stressed the need for regular dental check-ups and warned of the dangers of seeking treatment from untrained individuals.

World Orthodontic Health Day

The annual event, observed every May 15, is organized by the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO). Prof. Ize-Iyamu noted that the day serves as a platform to unite orthodontists, patients, and the public in promoting proper teeth alignment and overall oral health. She highlighted that UBTH and other teaching hospitals across Nigeria are participating in the global initiative to raise awareness about the transformative power of orthodontic treatment.
