Adeleke Campaign Rejects Claims of Financial Opacity, Cites BudgIT Report
Adeleke Campaign Rejects Financial Opacity Claims

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has strongly refuted allegations of financial opacity, pointing to an independent report that scores the state 100 per cent in fiscal transparency. In a statement released on Tuesday, the council's spokesman, Olajengbesi, described the opposition's claims as baseless and lacking substance.

BudgIT Report Validates Transparency

Olajengbesi highlighted that BudgIT Nigeria's 2025 Third Quarter Fiscal Transparency Report gave Osun a perfect score, ranking it among the top states in the country. He said, "Osun State has recorded a landmark achievement in transparency and accountability, securing a 100 per cent fiscal transparency score in the Q3 2025 report by BudgIT." This independent validation, he argued, underscores the administration's commitment to openness and responsible governance.

Opposition Rhetoric Dismissed

The campaign council noted that recent statements by the opposition lack coherence and are part of a pattern of abandoning constructive engagement for political rhetoric. Olajengbesi stated, "These claims, lacking substance and coherence, further reinforce the growing perception that the opposition has abandoned constructive engagement for baseless political rhetoric."

Reforms and Achievements

According to the council, the transparency ranking is not accidental but a direct result of deliberate reforms under Governor Adeleke. Key achievements include prudent management of public resources, clearing inherited pension obligations, improving workers' welfare, expanding social interventions like free healthcare for pensioners, and visible infrastructure transformation. "This is what accountable governance represents: a system that is transparent, verifiable, and impactful," Olajengbesi added.

The council concluded that Osun is firmly on a path of fiscal discipline and people-centered development, and no amount of distortion can alter that trajectory.
