Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has publicly responded after the Delta State Police Command formally invited him for questioning over allegations of attempted murder and incitement to terrorism. The invitation was conveyed through an official letter, which Gwamnishu shared on his social media platforms.
According to the document, the activist is expected to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Asaba on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Sharing a photograph of the letter online, Gwamnishu expressed his views on the accusations leveled against him.
In his statement, Gwamnishu said: 'I returned from court for Oghenemine’s case and the Nigeria Police Force Delta State Command sent me Happy New Letter. Case of Attempted Murder, incitement to engage in Terrorism. I wish to inform everyone that Delta State Police Command have nothing on me and they have been planning massively against me.'
The activist, known for his advocacy work, dismissed the allegations as baseless and suggested that the police were orchestrating a campaign against him. He did not provide further details but indicated that he would address the matter as events unfold.
