The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Leye Falade, has praised the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for what he termed remarkable achievements in Nigeria's battle against corruption, economic sabotage, and financial crimes.
Falade made this commendation on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was accompanied by NLNG's top management team.
He lauded the EFCC leadership for its dedication, describing the Commission's efforts as courageous and essential for safeguarding the Nigerian business environment. According to him, the fight against financial crimes demands resilience, and the EFCC's work enhances transparency and trust in the nation's economic system.
Falade also noted that NLNG has embedded strong ethical standards and governance frameworks into its operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to fair business practices. He reiterated the company's commitment to upholding high integrity standards both within Nigeria and internationally.
In response, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede expressed gratitude for the visit and recognized NLNG as a significant contributor to Nigeria's economy, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Olukoyede acknowledged that while the EFCC previously had a strained relationship with NLNG, those issues have been resolved, paving the way for enhanced cooperation between the two institutions.
He reaffirmed the Commission's readiness to collaborate with corporate organizations, emphasizing that its mandate extends beyond enforcement to include prevention, collaboration, and public sensitization.
The EFCC boss also highlighted his administration's focus on promoting economic stability through responsible anti-corruption measures. This led to the establishment of the Fraud Risk Assessment and Control (FRAC) department, designed to identify and mitigate fraud risks within Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and corporate bodies.
Olukoyede further stated that the EFCC remains open to assisting organizations in strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, urging NLNG to continue engaging the Commission as needed.
The visit concluded with renewed commitments to deepen collaboration between both institutions in the ongoing effort to promote transparency, accountability, and economic growth in Nigeria.
