Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has publicly reaffirmed his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for re-election in the upcoming 2027 polls. This declaration was made during a cabinet meeting at the Government House in Osogbo, where Adeleke emphasized his unwavering support for the President, despite ongoing political dynamics.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke clarified that his endorsement of Tinubu remains steadfast, even as he navigates his position within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Adeleke highlighted that the recent crises affecting local governments in Osun State have not influenced his political stance regarding the President's re-election bid.

Aiyedatiwa's Call for Grassroots Mobilization
Simultaneously, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has issued a rallying cry to All Progressives Congress (APC) members, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts. At a stakeholders' meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Akure, Aiyedatiwa declared that the party must secure one million votes for President Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
"We need to justify the federal support we have received by delivering a significant number of votes for the President," Aiyedatiwa stated, emphasizing the importance of Ondo State's contribution to the national electoral success. The meeting brought together party leaders, pre-delegates, and other stakeholders to discuss preparations for the upcoming party's zonal congresses and national convention.
Party Unity and Electoral Strategy
Governor Aiyedatiwa outlined the party's constitutional provisions, noting that either direct primaries or consensus methods are permissible for conducting congresses. He revealed that a unity list has already been prepared by leaders in consultation with national stakeholders, aiming to streamline the selection process and foster party cohesion.
