APC Targets Plateau State Victory in 2027 Elections
APC Plans to Capture Plateau State in 2027

The National Chairman of Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that his party is strategically positioned to reclaim Plateau State from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2027 governorship election.

Major Political Gathering in Jos

During a significant political event held in Jos on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Prof. Yilwatda addressed thousands of party supporters and leaders. The gathering served as a formal reception for numerous high-profile politicians who recently defected from opposition parties including the PDP, Labour Party, Peoples Redemption Party, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party to join the APC.

The event attracted prominent political figures such as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, governors from Nasarawa and Benue states, and several deputy governors from the region.

APC's Confidence in Dominating Plateau

Prof. Yilwatda expressed strong confidence in the APC's ability to secure victory across all electoral positions in Plateau State. "Today in Plateau, we have only one political party. If you are not in the APC, then you are not in any political party," he declared boldly before the crowd.

The APC chairman emphasized that the party has developed what he described as "enough power, enough firepower, enough engine oil, and enough engine to win the gubernatorial election." He specifically highlighted the party's strengthened position across the central, southern, and northern zones of the state.

Comprehensive Electoral Strategy

Prof. Yilwatda outlined the party's ambitious plan for the 2027 elections, stating that President Bola Tinubu, APC governorship candidates, senatorial candidates, House of Representatives members, and House of Assembly candidates would all secure victory in Plateau State.

The APC National Chairman assured new members that the ruling party provides a level playing field for all members. He encouraged remaining opposition members to join the APC while there is still opportunity, describing the party as the only platform with sufficient momentum for sustained political success both in Plateau State and at the federal level.

The reception ceremony featured the formal acceptance of former senators, governorship hopefuls, and serving lawmakers from multiple opposition parties who switched their allegiance to the ruling APC.
