Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Vows to Work with Omisore, Unseat Adeleke
APC's Oyebamiji Ready to Unite Party Against Adeleke

Chief Bola Oyebamiji, a prominent governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has declared his readiness to collaborate with party leaders, including Senator Iyiola Omisore, to unseat the incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

A Call for Unity Ahead of the Polls

Speaking in Abuja on Monday, December 1, 2025, after submitting his nomination forms at the APC national secretariat, Oyebamiji emphasised that party unity is non-negotiable for victory. He stated that the APC must present a united front to reclaim the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He urged all fourteen party aspirants to share the collective responsibility of supporting whoever eventually secures the party's ticket. "This is a friendly match. Whoever emerges, we will support," Oyebamiji affirmed, describing the contest as a family affair among brothers where unity is the greatest strength.

Oyebamiji's Confidence and Track Record

The former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) positioned himself as the aspirant to beat in the forthcoming primary. He anchored his confidence on a robust professional background spanning 28 years in the banking sector, where he mastered target-driven management.

His transition to public service saw him serve as the Managing Director of Osun State Trade and Investment, Commissioner for Finance, and later as the boss of NIWA. "I worked in banking for 28 years — you must be profitable, know your onions, and deliver results. I resigned to join public service, and everywhere I served, I left without blemish," he asserted.

Oyebamiji dismissed suggestions that his ambition is propelled by political godfathers, insisting that his support springs from ordinary party members and the people of Osun. "Nobody is backing me except the Almighty God and the credible people of Osun. They are the ones urging me on," he stated.

Vision for Osun State

He portrayed Osun as a state brimming with underutilised human and natural resources, requiring a disciplined manager with integrity and analytical depth. Oyebamiji called on party delegates to scrutinise the antecedents of all aspirants beyond mere rhetoric.

He pledged to run a transparent and evidence-based government focused on expanding opportunities, strengthening infrastructure, and restoring public trust in governance. The aspirant also committed to intense grassroots mobilisation and asked for the prayers of the citizens as the political season intensifies.
