APC Groups in Kwara South Rally Behind Bolarinwa for 2027 Governorship

Political groups affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kwara South district of Kwara State have publicly endorsed the 2027 governorship aspiration of former state party chairman, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa. The endorsements emerged from separate events organized in Offa, Offa Local Government Area, and Iloffa, Oke Ero Local Government Area, where members emphasized the state's need for a prepared and people-centered leader.

Endorsements Across Multiple Localities

This development follows earlier political meetings in Moro, Ifelodun, and Ekiti local government areas, where party leaders, former office holders, and loyalists endorsed both President Bola Tinubu's second-term ambition and Bolarinwa's governorship bid. The coordinated support signals growing momentum within the party's grassroots structures.

Constitutional Right Over Zoning Agreements

Speaking at the events, key figures challenged the notion of rotational zoning for the governorship position. Prince Olubunmi Isioye, leader of the APC Offa Solidarity Movement, and Engineer Shittu Muideen, convener of the APC Progressive Network for BOB 2027, asserted that the party's constitution does not mandate zoning. Former APC publicity secretary Tajudeen Folaranmi elaborated, stating, "It is a constitutional right for all intending political office holders to seek the mandate of the people. Zoning is a convenience agreement and not binding on aspirants. There is no zoning in APC. BOB has a constitutional right to contest the 2027 governorship position."

Bolarinwa's Leadership Qualities Highlighted

Supporters described Bolarinwa as a unifier and mobilizer whose entry into the race has reportedly attracted many former party members back to the APC. They urged delegates, stakeholders, and all party members to support him, characterizing him as "a leader who will turn our hopes into action, our vision into progress, and our dreams into lasting reality." Engineer Muideen highlighted Bolarinwa's legislative record, noting he championed policies empowering youth, strengthening communities, and stimulating economic growth.

Emphasis on Transformative Governance

Former deputy speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Raphael Adetiba, emphasized the aspirant's suitability, stating, "At a time like this when our state faces both immense opportunities and pressing challenges, we need a leader who is prepared, passionate, and people-centered. Hon. Dr. Bolarinwa possesses the competence, compassion, and courage required to move our state forward." Supporters praised his transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness as essential values for building trust and achieving tangible progress.
