Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has intensified support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, calling him a competent, experienced, and people-oriented leader with the vision to move the state forward.

Grand Finale Rally

The senator made the remarks during the PDP governorship campaign grand finale at Eagle Hall, Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, ahead of the June 20 election. Addressing thousands of supporters, women groups, youths, and the Ebira community, she said she had spent days mobilizing across Ekiti for Oluyede, whom she described as a man of integrity and proven leadership.

Why Oluyede Deserves the Mandate

According to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Dr. Oluyede deserves the mandate due to his commitment to good governance, youth empowerment, women inclusion, educational development, and economic growth. She stated that the candidate has consistently shown genuine concern for ordinary people and remains accessible to the grassroots.

“Dr. Oluwole Oluyede is a leader who understands the needs of the people. He is not disconnected from the grassroots. He has listened to the cries of market women, youths, civil servants, and community leaders across the state,” she said.

A Unifying Leader

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described Oluyede as a unifying figure who believes every Ekiti resident deserves equal opportunities regardless of tribe or background. She noted that his promise of an inclusive government, where all ethnic groups including the Ebira community would be fairly represented, motivated her vigorous campaign.

“He has assured our people that his administration will carry everyone along. He believes in unity, fairness, and equal representation. That is the kind of leadership Ekiti needs at this critical time,” she added.

Appeal to Ekiti Voters

The senator praised the educational standard and political consciousness of Ekiti people, expressing confidence they would make wise decisions. “Ekiti people are proudly educated and politically enlightened. I believe they know who truly has the capacity, compassion, and experience to govern the state effectively,” she stated.

Mobilization Efforts

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan disclosed visits to communities like Ikole-Ekiti, Ilasa, and other settlements with large Ebira populations to canvass support. Her mission was to encourage women and the Ebira community to vote massively for Oluyede on June 20. “We have moved from settlement to settlement speaking to our people. We are encouraging them to support a candidate that will prioritize development, inclusion, peace, and prosperity for all,” she said.

She maintained that Oluyede’s leadership style, development agenda, and commitment to welfare distinguish him from other contenders. She urged eligible voters to participate actively and support the PDP candidate, whom she described as “a tested and trusted leader with the interest of the people at heart.”

The campaign grand finale attracted party leaders, traditional supporters, youth organizations, and women groups from across the state, all optimistic that the PDP would emerge victorious in the June 20 governorship election.
