North Central Youths Establish Support Group for President Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid

Youth political actors from Nigeria's North Central geopolitical zone have officially launched a dedicated support group aimed at mobilizing grassroots backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. This initiative represents a significant push for youth-led political engagement and regional cohesion in support of the current administration's policy direction.

Leadership Structure and Strategic Appointments

The newly formed North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027 has unveiled a comprehensive leadership structure designed to provide institutional guidance and political direction. At the helm of the organization's leadership architecture is Hon. Hassan Omale Atayoma, who serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Atayoma brings extensive legislative experience and familiarity with national policymaking to his role.

Currently heading the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority as Executive Director, Hon. Atayoma oversees programs linked to water resource management, agriculture, and infrastructure development. His supporters believe this administrative experience will enhance the group's operational efficiency and accountability mechanisms.

The organization has also appointed Comrade Isa Daniel (Prof) as its Advisor. He presently serves as Deputy Director of Organising at the APC National Secretariat, a position associated with party coordination and nationwide mobilization. His involvement is expected to strengthen organizational planning and align the group's activities with broader party objectives.

Political Patronage and Strategic Vision

Political backing for the initiative includes the presence of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as Grand Patron. His role is expected to provide mentorship, strategic counsel, and national visibility for the youth movement. The group has positioned President Tinubu as the focal point of its campaign message, framing activities around support for governance reforms, national development, and expanded youth participation in public affairs.

Operational leadership of the organization is led by Comrade Abdullahi Muhammed Jemilu as Director General. He is tasked with coordinating mobilization across North Central states, building local structures, and encouraging youth engagement in democratic processes throughout the region.

Formal Inauguration and Future Plans

The official launch, inauguration, press briefing, and awards ceremony have been scheduled for February 14, 2026, at 10:00am. The event will take place at the Tinubu Support Group Office located at No. 2 Kainji Crescent, off Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama, Abuja. Organizers expect attendance from party leaders, political stakeholders, youth groups, civil society representatives, and members of the media.

With its established leadership lineup and expanding grassroots network, the North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027 has positioned itself as an emerging force in youth advocacy. The group has pledged commitment to:

  • Peace and unity initiatives
  • Democratic principles and processes
  • Policies aimed at economic growth and job creation
  • Sustainable national development programs
  • Enhanced youth participation in governance

This development comes amid ongoing political activities across Nigeria as various groups begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle. The North Central region, comprising states including Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory, represents a significant political bloc that could influence electoral outcomes.

The formation of this support group underscores the growing importance of youth mobilization in Nigerian politics and reflects strategic efforts to consolidate support for the current administration ahead of the next general elections.
