Tinubu Praises Soludo's Re-election as Victory for Visionary Leadership
Tinubu hails Soludo's re-election triumph

President Bola Tinubu has officially congratulated Professor Charles Soludo on securing a second term as Governor of Anambra State, characterizing the victory as a powerful endorsement of his transformative leadership and governance approach.

A Resounding Electoral Victory

Soludo's overwhelming win in Saturday's November 9, 2025 election marks a significant political achievement, making him only the third governor in Anambra's history to successfully secure re-election for a second term. The President described the outcome as a clear public mandate for Soludo's administration.

President Tinubu specifically praised the Anambra electorate, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring the election was conducted peacefully and efficiently. He highlighted the collaborative effort that resulted in what observers have described as a credible electoral process.

Recognition of Transformative Governance

"The re-election of Professor Soludo stands as testament to his visionary leadership and the substantial progress Anambra State has achieved under his guidance," President Tinubu stated. He particularly commended the governor, popularly known as "Mr. Solution," for demonstrating how academic rigor and sound public policy can translate into accountable, transparent, and prudent governance.

Recalling his official visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects initiated by Soludo's administration, the President noted that the quality and thought behind these initiatives left an indelible impression on him.

"I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under his leadership, the state is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation," President Tinubu added.

Strengthening Democratic Institutions

The President urged Governor Soludo to demonstrate magnanimity in victory and extend cooperation to his political opponents for the collective progress and development of Anambra State. He assured the governor of his administration's unwavering support and expressed optimism about deepening collaboration between Anambra State and the Federal Government.

President Tinubu also noted that the All Grand Progressives Alliance's victory underscores the growing vibrancy of Nigeria's democracy and proves that electoral success is achievable for leaders who deliver tangible results and effective governance to their constituents.

The President specifically praised the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what domestic and international observers have described as a credible election. He charged the electoral commission to sustain and improve upon the standards achieved during this election to further strengthen Nigeria's electoral system.

This gubernatorial re-election occurs amid heightened political attention in Nigeria's southeast region, following renewed debates about governance quality and development priorities across the region. Observers from the European Union and domestic monitoring groups reported that the election was largely peaceful, with minimal disruptions recorded at polling stations.

INEC officials noted that electronic transmission of results and improved logistics significantly contributed to the transparency of the electoral process, addressing a key demand from civil society organizations following the 2023 general elections.

Governor Soludo, who first assumed office in 2022, has focused his administration on infrastructure expansion, education reform, and public sector digitalization. He has indicated that his second term will build upon these foundational priorities, with specific emphasis on consolidating peace and deepening economic growth throughout Anambra State.
